To be eligible to purchase a Japan Rail Pass, you must meet the following condition. 1, You are a foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sightseeing, under the entry status of "TEMPORARY VISITOR ". "TEMPORARY VISITOR" entry status, according to Japan Immigration Law, allows a stay in Japan of 15 days or 90 days for "sightseeing, etc.". You have both a Japanese passport and written proof - obtained from the embassy or legation of Japan in the foreign country where you live - that you have been living legally in Australia for 10 consecutive years or more *You must present both your passport and proof of eligibility to purchase a MCO in Australia other than Japan and to exchange your Exchange Order for a JAPAN RAIL PASS in Japan. JR Pass Validity: The validity period of a Japan Rail Pass is the consecutive 7, 14, or 21 days beginning on the date the Pass is first used. Within three months from the date the MCO was issued, you must exchange your MCO to obtain your Japan Rail Pass in Japan. At that time, it is necessary to specify the date that you want to start using the Pass. It can be any date within one month from the date the Pass is received. Fuji's 5th Station cannot be reached due to road surface freezing or an accident on the Fuji Subaru Line, or due to weather conditions, etc., the tour will be taken to the highest elevation point possible. No alternative destinations are planned when the tour reaches beyond the 1st Station. However, when the tour has to turn back at the 1st Station or when the Fuji Subaru Line is completely blocked, the tour will visit Fujisan World Heritage Center or Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park. Please note that an alternative itinerary may also be omitted depending on road conditions. - Due to weather conditions, Mt. Fuji may not be visible even from the base. [Important Notes/Supplements: About Day 9 Itinerary (Transfer from Kanazawa to Kyoto)] - In the spring of 2024, the Hokuriku Shinkansen line will be extended from Kanazawa to Tsuruga. Once operation starts, a train transfer will be made at Tsuruga Station. After arriving at Kyoto Station, customers will be welcomed by an Englishspeaking assistant who will assist in boarding. - The arrival time in Kyoto may be around 12:00 to past 14:00 depending on the reserved Shinkansen conditions and other reasons. After arriving at the hotel, customers may have to wait until check-in. [Important Notes/Supplements: About Day 10 Itinerary (1-Day Kyoto Tour)] The Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed to visitors on the following days. As such, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead. If the closed day falls on the 25th, the tour will visit Nishi Hongan-ji Temple. (Mondays, Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event) Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December.
